The
first step across the threshold always takes guests by surprise. Eleven
foot ceilings give a wonderful sense of space. It is tastefully decorated
with antique furniture. Some of the paintings are by a
nationally recognized local equestrian artist, Joan E. MacIntyre. Her
paintings are available for purchase directly from her.

"Home away from home" could
well describe this luxurious lodging facility.
Amenities include a full kitchen, overlooking
the pastures, with stainless steel appliances, tile floors and oriental
rugs intentionally designed for the canine member of your family. A
whirlpool tub is perfect for massaging those achy muscles at the end of
the day.
The
antique bedroom furniture has been passed down to us by my
Grandmother.
The antique cabinet sink, that we had installed in
the bathroom, is from England. But most of the antiques in the Guest House
were local finds.

On your first step
outside the door of the Guest House you are
greeted by a view of the main residence across one of the horse
pastures. The atmosphere is so serene you feel as though you have left
the pressures of the modern world
behind, but you are only minutes from downtown Landrum and Tryon. This
area is in the middle of the North and South Carolina's horse country.
You will see many
different breeds of horses. A Percheron Draft horse, an Oldenburg, an
Arab, a Morgan Horse in one pasture.

In
another there are Paints, one of which was born on our farm, a
Medicine Hat Paint, Quarter Horses and a thirty year old Racking Horse.
